There's Hope for DSTV

Tired of watching 3ABN on your computer and chewing up your measly 3GB Telkom bandwidth limit. Then how about getting the Hope Channel using you DSTV decoder. It been available for a while and it is possible to set it all up using the following network settings for Ku-band:

Parameters for [PAS-7, Ku-band]

Frequency: 11.674 Ghz, (11674)
Polarity: Vertical fixed
Symbol Rate: 26652 Msps
FEC 5/6

You'll also find a few other public channels. I'm not sure how long the test signal will be available, so start watching! For those technophobes out there, I've created some hopefully simple step-by-step instructions. Click here and enjoy!

Browse schedules. (Thanks for the parameters Kurtie!)

UPDATE: DSTV has recently download new software to your decoder, (ie. new information menu) so you might have to re-enter your parameters as per above instructions.

The Hope Channel has really been an inspiration to me. The testimonies, missions and sermons is uplifting and makes me proud to be a Seventh Day Adventist. My prayer is that as a church community in South Africa we will catch the vision and become enthuisiatic to work for Christ. God Bless. Thanks Charlee and Ron for the iniative taken in creating this site.
